Lupine Varieties

Lupine Varieties

Lupinus luteum

The flowers are yellow and fragrant, the seeds are gray or black, and the thousand-grain weight is 120 to 160 grams. It is drought-resistant and grows well in sandy soil, but is sensitive to calcareous soil and prone to chlorosis. The stems and leaves contain alkaloids. The content of alkaloids is different in different growing environments. Varieties with alkaloid content exceeding 0.3% should not be used as feed.

Narrow-leaved Lupinus

The stem is 1 to 1.5 meters tall and has many branches. The flowers are white or purple, and the alkaloid content of the plant is highest when it blooms.

Lupinus leucoderma

Hairy. There are 5 to 7 leaflets, which are obovate-rectangular with ciliated edges. The flowers are white or slightly blue, and the calyx is not split. The seeds are white and round. The content among organisms is relatively low.
