How to grow red powder

How to grow red powder

Farming methods

Pot soil

Peat can be mixed with coal slag, river sand and other particles, and clean pumice can be laid on the soil surface. The soil should be prepared based on air permeability and the content of granular medium should be appropriately increased.

illumination

The red powder pavilion needs sufficient sunlight to make its leaves bright in color, its plant shape more compact and beautiful, and its leaves thicker. If there is too little sunlight, the leaves will be light in color, loosely arranged, and thinner.

Moisture

Generally speaking, the medium should be dry before watering.

In the case of open-air cultivation, once the temperature is higher than 35 degrees, the plants need to be moved to bright diffuse light, and the frequency of watering should be gradually reduced and eventually stopped (for example, under a ventilated glass ceiling).

Give little or no water during the dormant period throughout the summer. After the temperature drops in mid-September, begin to gradually resume normal watering frequency. The pink pavilion that has adapted to the open air environment can still grow normally in summer, and its dormancy is not very obvious.

In winter, if the temperature can be kept above 0 degrees, you can water the plants. If the temperature is below 0 degrees, stop watering and move the plants to a warm room or shed, otherwise the plants will be frozen or even die.

Fertilization

Fertilize once every quarter and choose long-lasting fertilizer for succulents.

Precautions

Watering Tips

When watering the Red Powder Terracotta, be careful not to let the water drip onto the center of the leaves. If there is moisture in the center of the leaf, it will rot. You can gently wipe it off with a cotton swab.

Precautions for outdoor breeding

The red powder pavilion maintained in the open air needs to be protected from heavy rain.

Repotting

Pink Terracotta is a medium to large stone lotus. It needs to be repotted every 1 to 2 years as it grows. The diameter of the pot can be 1 to 2 inches larger than the diameter of the plant, which can promote plant growth.
