How to deal with the yellowing leaves of Cloud Bamboo?

Cloud bamboo is a small bonsai plant, also known as cloud bamboo. It has beautiful green leaves and high ornamental value. Many people have potted plants in their homes. What to do if the leaves of cloud bamboo turn yellow? Let’s learn more about it below.

1. Watering

Cloud bamboo likes a moist growing environment. Water the plant when you see the surface of the soil is dry. If the cloud bamboo is kept in a dry and water-deficient environment for a long time, the leaves will turn yellow and dry.

2. Drainage

When watering the cloud bamboo, water it thoroughly until you see water flowing out from the bottom of the pot. Do not allow water to accumulate, as this can easily lead to root rot and yellowing of the leaves over time. If yellow leaves are caused by stagnant water, proper drainage management should be carried out.

3. Change pots and soil

If the soil is compacted and not permeable, the roots will be mixed with soil and water for a long time, which will cause the fine roots to rot and mold. The leaves turn yellow and even fall off. At this time, you need to change the pot and soil. The potting soil must have good drainage. It is best to choose loose soil such as humus soil and peat soil.

4. Shade

Cloud bamboo likes to grow in relatively humid and cool places. Exposing it to the sun or strong light for too long will cause the leaves to dry and develop yellow spots, affecting its appearance. At this time, it is best to shade it, or place it in semi-shaded scattered light.

5. Insulation

Cloud bamboo likes a warm and comfortable environment and has poor cold resistance. If the temperature is below 10℃, the leaves of cloud bamboo will turn yellow. Therefore, when the temperature is low in winter, it is necessary to move it indoors for maintenance and take insulation measures.

6. Fertilizer

Cloud bamboo needs sufficient nutrients during its growth. If there is insufficient nutrients, the leaves will turn yellow. At this time, top dressing should be done in time, not too thick, and thin fertilizer should be applied frequently, once a month is enough.

7. Stay away from the kitchen and electronic products

Cloud bamboo is sensitive to oil smoke, so the flower pot should not be placed in the kitchen or in a smoky room. It should also not be placed next to household appliances such as televisions, washing machines, and refrigerators, because the radiation from these appliances can also cause the leaves of the cloud bamboo to turn yellow.
