Yamato Kin breeding methods and precautions

Yamato Kin breeding methods and precautions

Watering method

Perhaps it is because Yamato Nishiki is easier to grow and can be watered more casually, so it can withstand sustained drought, but with sufficient water during the growing period, it will grow stronger. When the soil is almost dry or half dry, you can water it thoroughly once. Be careful not to keep the soil moist for a long time. The soil should be breathable and well-drained, with a 1:1 ratio of peat soil to granular soil.

Lighting requirements

Except for appropriate shade in midsummer, full sunlight is allowed. Adequate light can make the leaves of Yamato Nishiki more rosy and colorful, and more attractive. When the gaps between leaves turn green, it is a sign of insufficient light.

Timely ventilation

All succulents like a well-ventilated environment to prevent the growth of bacteria. If the temperature is suitable, it is best to place the Yamato Kinkade outdoors. If there are no conditions, you can place it near the window.

Summer and winter

Every type of succulent plant involves the issue of surviving the summer and winter.

When the temperature reaches 30 degrees in summer, appropriate shade should be provided, ventilation should be enhanced, and watering should be controlled. At the same time, prevent water from flowing into the leaf axils during rain and watering, causing the leaves to turn yellow and rot.

When the temperature is below 5℃ in winter, watering should be controlled. If it is lower, the plant should be moved indoors for the winter, and try to choose a sunny place.

Precautions

It is resistant to light frost, but it is best to overwinter at temperatures of 5-10 degrees. Fertile and well-drained sandy soil is suitable for cultivation. A certain amount of air humidity is required during the growing period. Watering should be controlled in winter. It can withstand low temperatures of 5°C.

During the growing season in spring and autumn, water thoroughly after the soil is dry. Avoid direct sunlight in summer, provide appropriate shade and reduce watering. Keep it in a sunny place indoors in winter.
