When can I plant the seeds of Clivia just after picking them?

1. When can I plant?

After harvesting Clivia seeds, they need to be sown as soon as possible, because the longer they are left, the lower their vitality will be, which will affect the germination rate of the seeds. After cutting off the flower sword, you can place it in a well-ventilated place, wait for 2-3 days, take out the seeds and sow them. If it cannot be sown as soon as possible, wrap it with gauze and place it in a cool place. The temperature should not exceed 15℃. It can be stored for one month.

2. Sowing Method

1. Process the seeds: Prepare warm water first and put the seeds in for half an hour. Soak in sodium phosphate solution for half an hour, and then soak in clean water for 15 hours after taking it out. You can also soak it in warm water and then dry it directly in the sun for 1-2 hours.

2. Prepare the soil: It likes to grow in acidic soil, so the flower soil should be acidic. You can use wood shavings, fine sand or leaf mold. It must be sterilized before use, then placed in a basin and flattened for later use.

3. Sowing: The last step is to sow the processed seeds. Place the seeds evenly on the soil, with the ones with small holes facing downwards. Then flatten them with soil, spray some water, and place them in a ventilated environment at 20-25℃. In addition, the humidity of the maintenance environment should not be too low, preferably around 90%. Wait for one to two weeks and it will sprout.
