How to raise Green Emperor

Morphological characteristics

Green Emperor is an evergreen woody climber. The stem is relatively thick and grows slowly. The leaves are basal when young. The stem becomes visible only after the plant grows up and the old leaves fall off.

The internodes of the stem are short, with a spacing of about 1 to 2 cm. Adventitious aerial roots often grow between the nodes. The stem can be up to 2 to 4 cm thick, is light brown, and has poor uprightness.

The leaves are large, arranged in rosettes, and gradually change from yellow-green to green or dark green, and are shiny. Inflorescence spathe, axillary.

Living habits

Green Emperor likes warm and humid environment, and the suitable temperature for growth is 20~30℃. It likes shaded, bright scattered light and avoids direct sunlight. It likes fertile soil and well-drained moist loam. The main methods of reproduction are tissue culture, cuttings and division, and hydroponics is also possible.

Origin Distribution

Green Emperor is native to Central and South America. It likes high humidity and high temperature and should be planted in slightly acidic soil.

The Green Emperor has a beautiful appearance, bright color, is evergreen all year round, and is very elegant. It is deeply loved by people. It is an excellent foliage plant for decorating hotels, conference rooms, living rooms, etc.
