How to change the soil for plum bonsai

How to change the soil for plum bonsai

1. Time Selection

When changing the soil, you must first understand the appropriate time. Doing it at the right time can shorten its recovery period. It is recommended that flower lovers do it on a sunny day in spring. If it is cloudy or rainy, you should wait until the weather clears up before proceeding.

2. Soil replacement method

1. Take out the plant: If you want to change the soil, you must first pour it out of the pot. Gently shake off the old soil stuck to the roots to check the growth status of its root system. After exposing its root system, use scissors to cut off all unhealthy roots and dry them in the sun for about half a day.

2. Prepare potting soil: In order not to affect the progress of changing the soil, it is best to prepare the flower pots and soil in advance. The size of the pot should be similar to that of the plant, otherwise it will affect its growth. If it is too small, the plant's growth space will become smaller, and it will stop growing. The soil must be in a clean state, and it is safest to disinfect it before use.

3. Plant in a pot: fill part of the pot with soil, place the plum blossom in the soil, and stretch out the roots. Then slowly fill the soil until its roots are buried. Finally, press the soil slightly, put it in a cool place and wait for it to recover.
