Kale seed planting method and steps

1. Seed treatment

Kale is sown with seeds, and the selection of seeds is very important. First, select the seeds, which should be plump, full, healthy and free of pests and diseases. Such seeds have a higher survival rate. In order to increase the germination rate of seeds, soak the seeds in warm water for about 2-3 hours, remove them and control the water, wrap them in a wet cloth and then place them in an environment of 25-30℃ for germination.

2. Prepare the Seedbed

When kale is planted in suitable soil, it grows faster and has higher quality. Prepare loose, breathable, fertile and nutritious soil in advance, apply well-rotted organic fertilizer, and then spray with fungicide for disinfection.

3. Sowing

Kale seeds are generally sown by broadcasting, evenly spreading the seeds into the soil. Cover with a thin layer of soil about 0.5 cm thick. Cover with a shade net after sowing and water enough to maintain humidity, but prevent the water from washing away the seeds.

4. Maintenance and management

Kale can be sown directly or raised and transplanted. When the seedlings grow three true leaves, they can be transplanted. It likes a humid environment, so be sure to water it in time, do a good job of topdressing, and weed in time to prevent the occurrence of diseases and pests.
