What to do if the leaves of Dendrobium turn yellow

What to do if the leaves of Dendrobium turn yellow

1. Appropriate amount of light

This plant does not like places with too strong sunlight, so it is easy for its leaves to turn yellow if it is exposed to excessive sunlight. It is usually best to place it in a cooler place such as the north balcony or living room, and move it out to dry it in the sun when the sunlight is not very strong. You can place it in the sun in winter or early spring when the sun is not strong.

2. Watering in moderation

Improper water control is likely to cause its leaves to turn yellow, so you need to be careful when watering it. Don't water it too frequently. Water it about once every 7 to 10 days. When the weather is hot or the air is dry, you can spray water on it with a watering can or sprinkle water next to its pot to increase the humidity of the air.

3. Adjust the temperature

This plant does not like excessively high temperatures. If the temperature in summer is too high and no appropriate cooling measures are taken, its leaves are likely to turn yellow. At this time, we should place it in a cool, well-ventilated place, and appropriately increase the frequency of watering or spray water on its leaves in time.

4. Replace the soil

If the soil quality is not good, it will be detrimental to its growth, and in severe cases it will cause its leaves to turn yellow. First of all, when choosing soil, if we use leaf mold or pine needle soil dug from the wild, we must expose the soil to the sun for a few days before using it. If you are still unsure, you can also treat the soil with zinc sulfate to kill the insects in the soil in time. In addition, be sure to replace the potting soil on time to ensure that it can absorb enough nutrients from the soil.
