Cyclamen planting environment

Cyclamen planting environment

1. Summer maintenance

The suitable growth temperature for cyclamen is around 25-30℃. When the temperature exceeds this value, cyclamen will grow slowly or even stop growing. Room temperature control in summer is very important. For general plastic greenhouses, measures need to be taken to cool down. Use 75% black shade net for shading, and provide shade from 10 am to 5 pm. You can also install water curtains and exhaust fans to lower the indoor temperature and ensure the temperature required for its growth.

It is forbidden to use water spray to lower the temperature in the greenhouse, as high temperature and high humidity will cause pests and diseases, and attention should be paid to ventilation. Too high a temperature will cause the cyclamen to enter a dormant period and prolong its growth cycle.

2. Autumn maintenance

After entering September, the weather turns cooler and the environmental conditions gradually become suitable for its growth. Cyclamen also gradually enters its peak period. The spacing between rows and plants should be widened according to the spacing of the finished flowers to allow ventilation and light to pass through, so that it can grow fully and form a good crown shape.

As the weather turns cooler, gradually allow the plant to get full sunlight. Remove the shade net in late autumn to allow the plant to fully produce and absorb photosynthesis, generate organic matter, and provide it with sufficient nutrients needed for growth. The daytime temperature should be between 20-25℃ and 15℃ at night, which is conducive to the differentiation of cyclamen flower buds. When the temperature is below 10℃, the flowers of cyclamen will become dull and easy to wither. When the temperature is below 5℃, it will be prone to frost damage. Therefore, attention should be paid to the changes in temperature in the greenhouse and attention should be paid to insulation.
