Tulip Flowering Management Tips

Tulip Flowering Management Tips

Tulip flower care

one. Pay attention to lighting

Tulips need sufficient light to grow normally. If there is insufficient light, the growth of the plant will be hindered.

But on the other hand, the growth and maintenance of tulips after potting should pay attention to proper shading, so the light should be reduced;

This will promote the growth of flower buds after the plants germinate, which will help with later flowering.

However, when the seedlings grow out, the light should be increased, which can help the plants to grow and form flower buds to promote flowering.

After the flower buds are fully colored, be sure to protect them from direct sunlight to extend the flowering period.

two. Pay attention to fertilization

During the tulip planting period, you need to apply base fertilizer to the tulips, so that you don't need to apply top dressing during the growth period of the tulips;

During the growth period, pay attention to applying a certain amount of nitrogen fertilizer, such as urea, ammonium nitrate, etc., to prevent the leaves from turning yellow and wilting. However, be careful not to apply too much fertilizer, as it will burn the roots and you will lose more than you gain.

When the tulips are in bud stage, you need to spray potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution every day, once a day, and do this for about 10 days.

three. Watch out for diseases

The most common and easily occurring diseases and pests for tulips grown in a high temperature and high humidity environment are those caused by pathogens, which can also be carried in the soil and infect the bulbs. The main diseases include stem rot, soft rot, color breaking disease, damping-off disease, blind buds, etc. The pests are mostly aphids, etc.

At this time, prevention and control measures must be taken, such as spraying pesticides, pruning, and manual insect catching.

Four. Keep Hydration in Mind

When tulips sprout, you should control the water appropriately. After the leaves grow up, you can spray water on the leaf surface to increase the air humidity.
