Main Varieties of Winter Jasmine

Jasmine

Also known as red jasmine, it is a climbing shrub. Young branches are quadrangular and striped. The corolla is red or rose red and has a fragrance. The flowers and leaves bloom simultaneously in May. Jasmine is endemic to China and is mainly distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan and other places.

Frangipani

It is also known as Suying, frangipani, Yesiminghua, Wild Mi, Yu Furong, and Suja needle. The flowers are white and fragrant. It likes warm and humid environment. In ancient times, it was often used as a headdress for women. It is also the national flower of Pakistan.

Tanchunhua

Also known as summer jasmine, it is a semi-evergreen shrub with yellow flowers, alternate pinnate leaves and 3 to 5 leaflets. It blooms in May and bears fruit in December. It grows in valleys and slopes and has not yet been cultivated artificially.

Yunnan Jasmine

Also known as Yunnan Winter Jasmine, the flowers are solitary, light yellow with dark spots, long petals and fragrant. It is native to Yunnan and was cultivated in various places.

Su Fanghua

Semi-evergreen shrub. The branches are relatively thin, the leaves are opposite, and there are 5 to 9 leaflets. The inflorescences are clustered, with white flowers that are directional and bloom from June to July. It is mainly produced in Sichuan, Yunnan and Tibet. The cultivation range of Sufanghua is very wide. It can be seen everywhere in squares and parks, as well as offices, hotels and buildings.
