How to propagate trumpet creeper and in what season does it bloom

How to propagate trumpet creeper and in what season does it bloom

1. Breeding Methods

1. Sowing method: Choose healthy seeds with full grains, and it is best to use seeds of the current year. The germination rate of old seeds is relatively low. The potting soil for sowing can be made directly from river sand, which can be used after disinfection. Note that the seeds must be soaked in clean water for 24 hours before sowing. Just sow the seeds directly into the potting soil, cover them with a thin layer of soil after sowing, and they will germinate after half a month of spraying water.

2. Division method: Division is carried out simultaneously with repotting in spring. Turn the plant upside down from the flowerpot, cut off the roots, the small branches growing from the base of the stem and the connection with the mother plant, and then plant them separately after disinfection. When planting, plant three or four plants in each pot.

3. Cutting method: Cutting is usually carried out in spring, specifically in April and May. Choose strong one-year-old branches, cut them into 10-15 cm lengths, and insert them into the substrate. The depth of the soil should be about two-thirds of the cuttings. Pay attention to heat preservation and moisture retention in the later stage, and they will take root in more than 20 days.

2. Flowering Season

Trumpet creeper blooms in spring and summer, specifically from May to August each year, and can last about three months. When blooming, the flowers are trumpet-shaped, the colors are very bright, and the ornamental value is extremely high. It is also a climbing plant, very suitable for potted maintenance at home.
