Can peony be placed in the bedroom?

1. Can it be placed in the bedroom?

It is not appropriate to keep it in the bedroom. First of all, this plant can only grow under strong sunlight, and the poor lighting in the bedroom is not conducive to its growth.

Secondly, it absorbs O2 and releases CO2 at night, which is not conducive to people's rest and sleep. Therefore, if you want to move it to the bedroom to enjoy it, it is best to move it outside the room at night.

Finally, its fragrance is very long-lasting, but smelling the floral scent for a long time is not very good for the sense of smell.

2. Breeding methods

1. Pot soil

It grows best in well-drained, fertile soil. We can use rotten leaves, ordinary garden soil and fine sand, mix them well, and then sprinkle some disinfectant powder in the soil as its potting soil.

The best time to pot is from late September to early October. You can lay broken tiles at the bottom of the pot to help it drain excess water. When planting it in the pot, do not plant it too deep or too shallow. The neck of the root can be slightly exposed above the soil surface.

2. Lighting

It likes sunlight but is afraid of strong sunlight. In summer, it is necessary to give it sufficient light, but also pay attention to shade it. In spring and autumn, place it where the wind doesn't blow, and in winter, let it receive sufficient sunlight.

3. Temperature

It likes warmth and dislikes extreme cold or heat. The low temperatures in winter can help it wake up from dormancy and help it bloom. If you want it to survive the winter safely, you need to create an environment of 5-8 degrees for it. If it is kept at home and the temperature exceeds 16 degrees, new buds may not differentiate in spring. Before it blooms in April, you can place it at home for viewing. In summer, you should spray it with some water to increase the humidity and lower the temperature.

4. Moisture

It likes a dry environment, so wait until the soil is dry before watering it thoroughly. In spring, the soil only needs to be kept slightly moist. If the weather is too hot in summer, you need to water it more. In autumn, you should gradually reduce watering. If you give it too much water at this time, its leaves will turn yellow and affect its flowering.
