The efficacy and function of plantain

1. Medicinal effects:

This plant has a relatively good effect in alleviating symptoms such as carbuncles, sore throat, liver heat and red eyes, hematuria, epistaxis, summer-heat and dampness diarrhea, stranguria and leucorrhea, difficulty urinating, and bladder heat.

2. Usage:

(1) Dysentery: This mainly refers to the disease caused by bacteria. Take fresh plantain leaves, rinse them, and boil them with water. Drink 60 ml to 120 ml three times a day. It will take about 7 to 10 days to see the effect.

(2) Acute glomerulonephritis: Take 15g of corn silk, 15g of Eclipta prostrata, 15g of thistle, and 15g of plantain with seeds, boil them in water and drink once a day.

(3) Children's enuresis: Take 60g of plantain, 60g of angelica, and 10g of ephedra, boil with water until 200ml is left, drink once a day before going to bed for about 7 consecutive days;

(4) Pyelonephritis: Take 30g of plantain, 12g of Viola yedoensis, 12g of Phellodendron amurense, 12g of Coptis chinensis, 12g of Honeysuckle, 20g of Houttuynia cordata, 20g of Taraxacum officinale, and 6g of Licorice, boil them with water, and drink it once in the morning and evening every day.

(5) Mumps: Take 30 to 60 grams of plantain, rinse it, boil it in water and drink it. If it is dry, take 15 to 30 grams.

3. Other functions:

Edible: Pick its fresh seedlings between April and May, then rinse off the soil outside its body, blanch it in water, and then it can be used as an ingredient, whether it is served cold, stir-fried, or made into soup.
