Water potted plants when they are dry and water thoroughly when they are dry

Water potted plants when they are dry and water thoroughly when they are dry

1. See dry and wet

Watering when the soil is dry and moistening when the soil is wet is the main method of growing flowers at home. Watering when the soil is dry means that after watering once, you should water it again when you see the soil surface turn a little white. There is no need to wait until the soil in the pot is dry for a long time before watering again. The next time you water, you must water until the soil is thoroughly moistened. This method is very suitable for succulent plants. Sufficient water should be supplied during the period of vigorous growth so that the potting soil contains an appropriate amount of moisture. After that, a buffer period of time is required, and watering can be done again after some of the water evaporates.

2. Water thoroughly when dry

This method is mainly suitable for semi-drought-tolerant plants. Watering thoroughly when the soil is dry is similar to what was mentioned above, which means waiting until the potted plants are completely dry before watering. Watering needs to be thorough at one time, until water can flow out from the bottom of the pot. This is considered a thorough watering, avoiding the situation of water in the middle, or half water. Generally, for potted plants that are growing vigorously and healthily, the water absorption area is mainly concentrated at the bottom of the pot. If the water is not watered thoroughly, the roots will still be in a dry state and will not absorb any water.

Before watering thoroughly, you need to first determine whether the soil is completely dry. You can observe the dryness and wetness of the soil surface in the pot, or you can put your fingers down and feel it.
