When does the purple magnolia bloom?

When does the purple magnolia bloom?

1. The flowering period of this plant

Generally speaking, it blooms mainly in the early spring, that is, from March to April. Compared with other flowers, it blooms after the "Red Plum"; its flowering period is closer to that of the "Bauhinia" and "Red Leaf Peach". However, this stage is only an approximate period. We all know that the flowering period of a plant is related to many factors. For example, if grown indoors in a warm climate, the flowers may bloom earlier. Therefore, its flowering period will vary with various factors, generally concentrated in March and April.

2. Things to note during flowering period

(1) Temperature: The first thing is of course the temperature. A warm environment has a very significant effect on its flowering. As we said above, controlling the temperature within the appropriate range may cause it to bloom earlier or even extend its flowering period. Specifically, it can be controlled at around fifteen to twenty degrees. Generally speaking, the indoor temperature is just right.

(2) Lighting: This is as indispensable as the first aspect. This plant itself is a very light-loving plant, not to mention that it is in its flowering period, so its demand for light is correspondingly greater. During its flowering period, if sufficient light cannot be guaranteed, it is very likely that the number of flowers will decrease or even there will be no flowers at all.

(3) Fertilizer: Be sure to apply some fertilizer before and after it blooms. In February and May, that is, before and after the flowering period, compound fertilizer needs to be used every ten days or so. By doing this, its flowers will bloom better.

(4) Water: This plant itself likes moisture and has a strong demand for moisture during the flowering period. However, care should be taken not to over-water.
