How to Identify Italian Parsley

1. Stem

It is a biennial herb with a smooth stem surface. The stem is round and slightly grooved. The height is approximately between 30 cm and 100 cm. Branches start from the middle part above it. The branches are opposite or whorled, usually exceeding the central umbel.

2. Leaves

Its leaves are dark green with a shiny surface. Pinnately divided, the lobes are lanceolate and linear, the base is cuneate, the teeth are obtuse and have small white tips, and the basal leaves and leaves at the lower part of the stem have long petioles.

3. Flowers

The inflorescence is umbel, with a width of about 2.5 cm, linear or linear-subulate, about half the length of the pedicel and closely attached to it. The flowers are small, white, and the petals are between 0.5 mm and 0.7 mm long.

4. Fruit

The fruit is oval, gray-brown, 2.5 mm to 3 mm long and about 2 mm wide.
