Can jade plant be placed in the bedroom?

Can jade plant be placed in the bedroom?

1. Can it be placed in the bedroom?

The answer is it is best not to, it contains a toxic substance which is harmful to us, so it is best not to put it in the bedroom. Moreover, the juice of its stems and leaves is very irritating. If it comes into contact with the skin, it will cause redness and swelling. If it gets into the eyes, it is likely to cause blindness, so don't place it in areas where children can easily touch it. If you want to keep it at home, it is better to place it in a high place with light, which is good for its growth and will not pose any hidden dangers.

It prefers plenty of light, and although it can grow in shady areas, too much shade is not good for its growth. Generally speaking, there is not enough light in the bedroom, so it is best not to keep it in the bedroom.

2. How to maintain

1. Watering

During its growth period, you only need to keep the soil in the pot moist. Don't water too much. Wait until the soil is dry before watering. Too much water can easily cause the roots to rot. If it is summer, don't let the soil be too dry, otherwise it will easily cause its leaves to fall. It does not require a lot of fertilizer. Only one or two times a year of very dilute fertilizer is needed, and this is usually concentrated during its growing season.

2. Lighting

Spring and autumn are the best time for its development, and the surrounding temperature should be kept between 20 and 30 degrees. In the summer when the weather is hot, you need to take protective measures, provide it with shade, and don't let it be exposed to direct sunlight. If the temperature is higher than 38 degrees, its growth will slow down. If it is winter, place it in a bright place, preferably next to a sunny window in the room, and the temperature should be between seven and ten degrees. If the temperature is lower than zero degrees, there is a high possibility of freezing to death.

3. Water and fertilizer

During its growth period, add water to it every two or three days, but do not allow water to accumulate. You need to ventilate it in summer, otherwise it will drop leaves. In winter, reduce the amount of water and keep the soil dry. Fertilizer should also be added during the growth period, generally two to three times a month, and decomposed liquid fertilizer should be added. In order to make it grow well, the water and fertilizer should be controlled well, otherwise it will grow too tall.
