How to care for the newly bought Dieffenbachia

How to care for the newly bought Dieffenbachia

1. Temperature

Variegated Dieffenbachia is not cold-resistant, so after buying it home, you need to control the temperature between 25-30 degrees, which can help it better adapt to the environment and resume normal growth. Too low temperature can easily cause the leaves of Dieffenbachia to fall off or turn yellow.

2. Watering

Variegated Dieffenbachia likes moisture, so it needs to be watered frequently after you buy it home to keep the soil moist for a long time. You can also spray water mist around the plant to maintain humidity. At the same time, wipe the branches and leaves with a clean towel to remove dust on the surface of the branches and leaves so that the plants can better absorb water.

3. Fertilization

Don't fertilize the Dieffenbachia when you first buy it. It itself does not have a strong demand for fertilizer, and it has not yet adapted to the new environment, so its absorption capacity is poor. If the fertilizer is not completely absorbed and left over, the plant will suffer from root burn.

4. Lighting

Variegated Dieffenbachia likes light. After buying it home, you can expose it to soft diffuse light, with no less than six hours of light a day, to promote its growth. But it should be noted that it is not resistant to strong light. Do not place it under strong light for a long time to avoid burns to the plant.
