It can be made into pills and taken orally, or crushed into powder and applied on affected areas. Although it is non-toxic, people with poor stomachs should use it with caution to avoid diarrhea.

Here are a few medicinal methods: To treat the pain symptoms of tooth decay: just stuff soapwort into the nostrils; to treat the symptoms of digestive tract and broken gas: 1 liang of pinellia, 5 qian of asafoetida, 3 liang of hawthorn, 3 qian of soapwort, mash all of the above into powder, then make it into pills with asafoetida and vinegar for consumption.
