Rice is a cereal crop of the genus Oryza and is grown in both the north and south of China. It is mainly a single-season rice crop and is usually sown before Qingming Festival, which is around April. The temperature at this time is neither too high nor too low, which is suitable for seed germination.

Rice sowing method

Rice needs to be sown at a suitable temperature. The ambient temperature needs to be above 7 degrees, and the ground temperature at 5 cm should be between 8 and 10 degrees. The seeds are sown on the soil, which needs to be covered with 0.5 to 1 cm thick nutrient fine soil. Water it thoroughly once to keep the soil slightly moist.

Rice seeds need to be watered in time after sowing, and then transplanted to the field after germination. The depth of transplanting should be kept at about 1.5cm, and the spacing needs to be well controlled. There should be no uneven height or depth. If there is a lot of rainfall in the rainy season, drainage measures need to be taken. If the temperature is high in summer, timely watering is needed.

The growing period of rice is 104 days, and it is usually harvested in July or August. If it is a double-season rice, the growing period of the second season of rice is 87 days, and it will be harvested around November.
