What is the flower language of the dragon's spit?

Precious, pure, and warm-hearted

The leaves of the Clerodendrum thomsoniae are dark green, the calyx is like jade, and the corolla is crimson, which is full of poetic and picturesque beauty. Potted plants decorate windowsills or balconies, with handsome shapes, bright and novel appearance. In summer, although the Clerodendrum thomsoniae is not as colorful as the azalea, nor has the enchanting charm of the rose, it stubbornly resists the scorching heat and spits out red beads that contain the fire of life one after another.

Origin of the name

There was an interesting story about the origin of the name of Clerodendrum thomsoniae: in the middle of the eighteenth century, the British travel expert Cos Thomson traveled to Africa and inadvertently saw many black-skinned girls wearing necklaces made of Clerodendrum thomsoniae flowers and decorating their chests. The strong contrast of one black and one white aroused his great interest, so he collected some seedlings and brought them back for trial planting. At that time, botanists believed that he was the first discoverer, so they named it after him. By the end of the 19th century, Mali began to trade in this flower and renamed it "Pearl Pagoda", which was certainly better than using a person's name.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Myristica fragrans entered the international flower market in the Netherlands. At first, sales were very small. An overseas Chinese worker named Fang Fulin, based on the flower buyers' preference for auspiciousness, suggested using the name "Myristica fragrans" to attract customers, and his suggestion was immediately adopted by the boss. As a result, the business was very prosperous and the products were exported to almost all parts of the world. Since then, the name of Dragon's Tongue has become popular all over the world.

Are flowers poisonous?

Many flower lovers have asked whether the Clerodendrum thomsoniae is poisonous and whether it can be grown indoors. The editor will explain it here so that flower lovers who want to grow them will not miss out on such beautiful plants.

The Amaryllis plant is non-toxic and can be grown as a potted plant at home. It is very effective in decorating your home. However, night is the time when plants breathe most actively, and people are also breathing. If you keep plants in the bedroom, it is best to move them out at night!
