Remedies for Yellowing Yew Leaves

Remedies for Yellowing Yew Leaves

Yew is loved by people for its elegant shape, slender and thick leaves and bright red fruits. Its leaves are dark green, and the fruit is particularly eye-catching against the backdrop of green leaves. It not only has high ornamental value, but can also effectively absorb harmful gases in the air, so it is very popular. However, in the process of maintaining yew trees, the problem of yellowing leaves often occurs. Let’s learn the remedies for yellowing yew leaves .

1. Water management

Yew prefers moist growing conditions, but frequent watering may cause root rot, which can lead to yellowing leaves. Therefore, when caring for yew, you should wait until the soil surface is slightly dry before watering thoroughly. At the same time, you can increase the air humidity by spraying clean water around the plants to create a suitable growth environment for the yew.

2. Light adjustment

The yew tree does not require much light. If it is placed under strong light for a long time, especially in summer, the leaves may be sunburned, causing yellowing and falling off. Therefore, when the light is strong, provide appropriate shading to protect the leaves of the yew from damage.

3. Temperature control

Yew grows well in a warm environment, with the most suitable temperature range being 20-30°C. Low temperatures may cause yew trees to suffer frost damage, causing the leaves to dry up and fall off. In winter, appropriate insulation measures should be taken to ensure that the yew trees survive the winter safely.

4. Reasonable fertilization

Plants need sufficient nutrients to grow, but excessive fertilizer or high concentration may burn the roots and cause yellowing of leaves. If over-fertilization occurs, water should be applied immediately and abundantly to dilute the fertilizer concentration in the soil. In daily fertilization, the principle of "small amounts of fertilizer and frequent application" should be followed to avoid affecting the healthy growth of yew due to improper fertilization.

In short, if you have yew trees at home, you can pay more attention to these issues to see if they are caused by these reasons.
