Eight national treasure plants in my country

Eight national treasure plants in my country

Metasequoia

A large deciduous tree of the Cupressaceae family, it is one of my country's precious relict tree species and is hailed as a living fossil by the world's biological community. It is distributed in the wild in Wanxian, Sichuan, Lichuan, Hubei, Longshan, Hunan, and Sangzhi. The tree history can be traced back to the Upper Cretaceous.

Alsophila spinulosa

Woody ferns, also known as "tree ferns", are both ornamental plants and economic tree species. They are a plant with a high starch content and are produced in the southern provinces of my country.

Cathaya

An evergreen tree of the Pinaceae family, it is a relict species unique to my country; the tree is more than 10 million years old and was almost extinct during the glacial activity in the late Tertiary period. It only survives in the southwest of my country at low latitudes. Discovered in the fifties.

Davidia involucrata

It is a deciduous tree of the Davidia involucrata family and a world-famous ornamental species. Because its flowers look like perched doves, it is also called the "Chinese Dove Tree". Davidia involucrata has a low survival rate and is difficult to transplant, so its number is currently decreasing.

Camellia chrysantha

A small tree of the Theaceae family, it is one of the most precious ornamental plants in my country. Not only does it have gorgeous flowers, its leaves are also high-quality tea ingredients and can be used as medicine. It is only produced in Changning and Dongxing, Guangxi, and cannot be transplanted at present.

Ginseng

Ginseng is a precious medicinal material and the only herb among the eight key protected plants in my country. It is only produced in Northeast my country and North Korea, requires high planting technology, and is a famous economic plant.

Taiwania bald

It is a large evergreen tree of the Cupressaceae family and one of the most famous building material species in my country. Its wood is light, soft, dense and has straight texture. It is produced in Yunnan, Guizhou and other places as well as northern Myanmar, but is rare.

Parashorea chinensis

Parashorea chinensis is a large evergreen tree. As the name suggests, it has the power of looking up to the sky and the tree height can reach more than 70 meters. It is the best tree species in the world for ships and vehicles, and is uniquely produced in the primeval forests of Xishuangbanna in my country.
