1. Loose soil

Fairytale trees grow well in loose soil. If the soil is sticky, the roots will have difficulty breathing, which will affect their growth. Usually acidic sandy loam is used for planting. If you prepare the potting soil yourself, you can mix peat soil, garden soil, vermiculite and coarse sand in a ratio of 3:2:2:1. In addition, the pot needs to be changed once a year.

2. Sufficient light

The growth of the fairy tale tree cannot be separated from sufficient light, so it is usually placed in a sunny place. It should be noted that since it is not resistant to strong light, it needs appropriate shade in the summer. When winter comes, in order to ensure that the plant can survive safely, it needs to be exposed to light throughout the day, especially at noon, which is also helpful in raising the temperature.

3. Reasonable watering

The fairy tale tree is sensitive to water and has good drought resistance. If there is too much water, it will not only not help it grow, but will also slow down its growth and even cause various diseases. Usually it is enough to water once every two to three days in spring and autumn. In summer, you can water every day, and in winter, wait until the soil is dry before watering.

4. Fertilize regularly

When planting fairy tale trees, you need to apply sufficient base fertilizer. Generally, use decomposed organic fertilizer, such as chicken manure or bean cake. During its growth period, you also need to supplement nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers, but don't apply too much. Dilute it sufficiently before applying fertilizer to avoid fertilizer damage. Usually apply fertilizer once every 15-20 days, and use less fertilizer or stop applying fertilizer during the dormant period.

5. Pay attention to pruning

Fairytale trees grow quickly, so they need regular pruning to maintain their shape. In addition to pruning dead and diseased branches, you should also trim those that are too long and too dense to increase internal ventilation and light, reduce the possibility of bacterial growth and disease, and provide a good growth space for new branches.
