Method of hydroponic onion cultivation

Method of hydroponic onion cultivation

1. Processing onions

Before hydroponically growing onions, you should first select larger onions. It is best to use onions that sprout quickly so that they will sprout faster after hydroponics. The outermost dry skin of the onion can be peeled off, and a part of its root can be cut off with a knife.

2. Prepare the container

Find a transparent hydroponic container. The opening of the container should be neither too small nor too large, but just enough to hold the onion. You can use a water cup, plastic bottle, etc. After preparation, pour water into it. The water level should be just enough to touch the bottom of the onion. Be careful not to add too much water.

3. Carry out hydroponics

Just place the chopped onions in the hydroponic container. When you first start hydroponics, you need to change the water every day for a week, and then it will slowly grow small white roots.

4. Water culture care

After it grows roots, the frequency of water changes can be extended to every other day. After waiting for about 7-10 days, green buds will sprout from the top of the onion. At this time, it is recommended that you change the water every 3-4 days. If you want to make it grow faster, add some rooting powder to the water, so that it will grow faster.
