How to grow azalea well

How to grow azalea well

1. Watering

Watering is very important for growing azaleas. Its roots are relatively thin, so do not water it too much or too little. The best time to water it is in the morning and evening, when it can absorb water better. Too much watering will easily cause water accumulation, and the roots will easily rot due to lack of breathing.

2. Fertilization

It does not require too much fertilizer, once every 15 days is enough. During its growth period, the amount of fertilizer should be appropriately increased. Do not apply too much fertilizer at normal times, so as to avoid death due to difficulty in absorption due to large amounts. Appropriate fertilizer can produce bright flowers and help it grow better.

3. Lighting

To grow azalea better, sunlight is an indispensable aspect. It should be allowed to receive sufficient sunlight, but it should not be exposed to direct sunlight or for a long time.

4. Pruning

Proper pruning is very beneficial to its growth. The best time for pruning is spring and autumn. When pruning, diseased branches, old branches and branches that grow too densely should be cut off. This can increase ventilation, which can not only prevent the spread of diseases and insects, but also is beneficial to its growth.

5. Temperature

The suitable temperature for azalea growth is 15-25℃, the minimum cannot be lower than 5℃, and the maximum cannot exceed 32℃. Generally, when entering the autumn and winter seasons, it should be placed indoors for cultivation. In winter, it should be placed in a sunny place with a temperature of 5-10℃. If it is lower than the minimum temperature, it will enter a dormant state.
