Can Fuchsia be hydroponically cultivated?

Can Fuchsia be hydroponically cultivated?

1. Is it possible to grow hydroponically?

Some friends think that this plant can only be grown in soil and not in water, and they dare not try it. Actually, this is possible. Moreover, if properly maintained, the plants can even grow better than those grown in soil. Moreover, if it is placed in a transparent container, with water as a backdrop and light shining on it, it will look very beautiful. It is more ornamental than those grown in soil. However, there are many issues that need attention, some of which are unique to hydroponics, and some are consistent with soil cultivation.

2. Issues to note

(1) Change water

This is very important. If the water is not changed for a long time, it will become turbid and the plants will not grow well. It should be changed about once a week. If the temperature is very high, more times are needed. In addition, it is best to expose the water to the sun for a while and then change it when its temperature is almost the same as room temperature. Don't change it right after you take it off the tap.

(2) Nutrient solution

Plants grown in water are not the same as those grown in soil; they cannot absorb the same nutrients from the soil. Therefore, in order to promote the growth and development of water-grown plants, it is best to use some nutrient solution to help. There is no particular requirement for the type; any ordinary nutrient solution bought from the store will do. You can add some when changing the water.

(3) Light

This plant is light-loving. Whether it is grown in soil or water, light is essential. You can put it in a bright place such as a balcony or windowsill. It not only helps it grow, but also makes it look better.

(4) Ventilation

Just like those grown in soil, those grown in water also need to be placed in a well-ventilated location.
