Can Golden Edge Lucky Bamboo be grown in water?

Can Golden Edge Lucky Bamboo be grown in water?

1. Water culture method

1. First of all, it can be grown in water, just make sure the water covers it by about 15 cm. When growing it in water, the area where it is placed is very important. There should be light but not too bright, and it cannot be placed directly in the sun for a long time. Especially during the hot summer, the sun can easily burn it.

2. If you have just started to grow it in water, do not change the water frequently. This is not good for it. You should change the water at least once every twelve days. Choose bamboo with very green and upright leaves. Don't pursue bamboo with many leaves. Too many leaves will make it easier to consume nutrients in the water, and the leaves below will easily turn yellow, so they need to be cleaned in time.

3. You cannot move it frequently, because every time you move it, it needs to adapt again. You can turn the bottle from time to time so that the light will be more even and it will be better for its growth. If the humidity in the room is not enough, you can water it once every half a day. When it grows white roots, it means it can survive successfully.

2. How to carry out daily maintenance of water culture

1. Temperature

It can withstand very cold temperatures, 2-3℃ is fine. However, it grows best at 20-28℃. In winter, you must take care to prevent it from frost disasters. If it is too cold, it will be frozen and easily die.

2. Lighting

As a shade-loving plant, it is best suited for its growth in semi-shade conditions. It must not be placed under the scorching sun for a long time, otherwise it will easily turn yellow and its growth rate will become extremely slow.

3. Water quality

When growing it hydroponically, you cannot use unsettled tap water, as the chlorine in it will harm it and it will be difficult for it to enter a normal growth state.

4. Fertilization

It is relatively tolerant of fertilizer, and generally requires fertilizer every two or three months to increase its nutrition. If it is grown hydroponically, you need to add some potassium dihydrogen phosphate when changing the water every half a month so that it can get enough nutrients.
