What to do if black spots appear on the leaves of hydroponic Anthurium

What to do if black spots appear on the leaves of hydroponic Anthurium

1. Leaf spot

(1) Specific cause: There is a disease called "leaf spot". When the disease occurs, black spots may appear on the leaves of the plant. At the beginning, some small spots of lighter color will appear on the back of the leaves. As the disease continues to develop, it will turn into large spots that are darker in color and have yellow rings. This disease is mainly caused by high temperature and humidity in the environment and poor ventilation.

(2) Solution: First, remove the leaves that have black spots and dispose of them in a centralized manner, preferably by burning them. Doing so can effectively prevent the spread of the disease. Next, we can spray pesticides for prevention and control, Bordeaux mixture or carbendazim are both acceptable. The frequency should be controlled to once a week, and a total of four or five times will be enough. Also, pay more attention to ventilation and improve environmental conditions.

2. Anthrax

(1) Specific cause: This disease can also cause some small black spots to appear on the leaves. As the disease progresses, the spots will increase in size.

(2) Solution: First, we also have to deal with the diseased leaves. Next, spray Bordeaux mixture. Also, fertilizer and water management is very important. Especially drainage and humidity.

3. Lighting issues

(1) Specific reason: This plant itself is afraid of strong light. If it is exposed to strong sunlight for a long time, it may also develop spots. If the symptoms are mild, the color will be lighter, but if the symptoms are severe, black spots will appear.

(2) Solution: If this is the case, appropriate shading is needed. Normally, diffuse light is enough to avoid direct sunlight.
