Cultivation methods and precautions of small green vegetables

Cultivation methods and precautions of small green vegetables

1. Soil

The root system of green cabbage is relatively developed and it is suitable for growing in deep soil. It will grow better in loose, fertile, well-drained, neutral or slightly acidic sandy soil.

2. Lighting

It loves sunlight and will grow more vigorously in a place with sufficient light. It is recommended to place it on a balcony or outdoor place with good lighting and drainage for maintenance, which will be more conducive to its growth. When the light is strong in summer, appropriate shading can be provided to prevent the leaves from wilting.

3. Temperature

It is suitable for growing in a warm environment and has strong cold resistance. It can grow normally as long as the temperature is kept at 10-20℃. The most suitable temperature for its growth in a year is 15-23℃. During the high temperature period in summer, try to lower the temperature to below 30℃ and keep the soil moist, otherwise its quality will easily be affected. The temperature should not be lower than 4℃ in winter, otherwise it will affect the germination rate of seeds.

4. Watering

It needs a lot of water at every stage of its growth, so the soil needs to be kept moist and not allowed to become dry. Water as soon as the soil is dry, and make sure to water thoroughly each time. In summer, you can water it once in the early morning or evening every day. In spring and autumn, you can water it once every 1-2 days. In winter, you can water it once every 3-5 days.

5. Fertilization

It likes fertilizer, especially nitrogen fertilizer. Sufficient nutrients need to be supplemented during the growth period. Be sure to apply enough base fertilizer and apply fertilizer twice during the period. You can appropriately add some fertilizers containing phosphorus and potassium. Top dressing should be combined with irrigation to keep the soil moist at all times.
