It can be grown hydroponically, but it is not a long-term solution, only 2 to 3 months is enough. Hydroponics is usually used to induce root system. For example, if the roots of Jade Plant are rotten and need to be re-cut, hydroponics can help it take root faster and improve the survival rate.

Before hydroponically cultivating Jade Plant, you need to know that the plant needs a certain humidity to take root, which is air humidity rather than soil humidity. This is why when cuttings of succulent leaves are not inserted directly into the soil, but exposed to the air.

The hydroponic method of Jade Leaf

First, cut strong branches, about 10 cm in length, or choose according to the bearing capacity of the hydroponic container. Place the branches in a well-ventilated place to dry thoroughly, then place them in a container of water. Be careful not to let the branches come into direct contact with water. The lower end of the branches should be about 0.5 to 1 cm away from the water surface.

Place the hydroponic container in a place with diffuse light and avoid direct sunlight. Many white roots will grow in about 20 days. You can put 2/3 of the grown roots into water and expose the rest to the air.

Techniques for water culture and care of Jade Plant

In the initial stage of maintenance, change the water every 3 to 5 days to ensure the water quality is clean. After one month, reduce the frequency of water changes appropriately. Change the water every 10 days or so, and water in time if there is less water.

Jade plants grown in water also need sunlight and need to be maintained in the same way as those grown in soil.

If you want to grow hydroponically for a long time, you need to prepare nutrient solution for succulents to ensure the plants absorb nutrients. However, after a period of hydroponics, it was found that the plants grew weak and appeared sick, so they had to be planted in the soil in time.
