Why does aloe vera turn red?

Why does aloe vera turn red?

1. Too little water

Reason: This situation often occurs in summer, when water evaporates very quickly, so if there is not enough watering, its leaves will easily turn from green to red.

Improvement method: Water it as soon as possible and water it thoroughly. In addition, you should replenish water regularly. Replenish water as soon as possible after the soil dries out.

2. Too much water

Reason: Do not water aloe vera too much during maintenance, as too much water will most likely cause the roots to rot. Or if the water is not drained in time after being rained on, the accumulated water will harm its root system, which will also cause the leaves to turn red.

Improvement method: The aloe vera with red leaves should be pulled out of the potting soil and the rotten parts should be cut off with scissors. Put it in a well-ventilated place to dry for a while, and then put it in the pot after it is dry.

3. Too much light

Reason: It cannot be exposed to strong direct light under normal circumstances. Some flower lovers think that it likes sunlight, so they put it in the sunlight without caring about it. In fact, this practice is wrong. It cannot be exposed to direct sunlight, otherwise the leaves will turn red.

Improvement method: Move the potted aloe vera to a cool place for a while and wait for it to recover. However, do not place it directly in a place that is too dark. Gradually shade it so that the plant can adapt faster.
