The difference between Green Master and Jade Dragon Guanyin

The difference between Green Master and Jade Dragon Guanyin

1. Green Mage

It is a relatively large variety. The largest leaf disk can even grow to more than 40 cm. It can remain green all year round. The surface of the leaves is relatively smooth, with sparse fine hairs, and there are also cilia on the edges of the leaves.

Its leaves remain green no matter how much sun it is exposed to. It does not grow very fast, but it is relatively easy to grow flowers. Generally, you can still see it blooming if you plant it at home.

It likes warm, bright and relatively dry areas, and has a strong resistance to drought. It grows faster in cold seasons, because it will enter a dormant state for a short time due to the hot weather.

If you want it to propagate, you can cut off its rosette-like leaf disk in early spring and plant it in the soil. This variety is easier to propagate.

2. Jade Dragon Guanyin

Except summer, the other three seasons are its growing seasons. Although the winter is quite cold, it still grows relatively fast as long as the temperature is 10℃.

Like the Green Master, it also has a short dormancy in the summer due to the temperature, and its leaves will curl up. In daily care, you don't need to worry too much. In the beginning, you should give it about 3 hours of sunshine every day. After it grows branches, you can reduce the time it is exposed to the sun.

If you water it, you should water it at least once a week during its growing period.

One of its more notable characteristics is that it often emits a rather unpleasant odor, especially on its leaves, which can be smelled with a light touch of the hand.

It is quite common in the flower market. When planting it, you can use soil with larger particles and try to water it as little as possible.

3. How to distinguish

1. Plant type: The former has more compact leaves and grows taller. The latter has looser leaves and a shorter body.

2. Leaves: The leaves of the former are longer and thinner. Both have hairs on the edges of their leaves, but the distance between the hairs of the former is larger than that of the latter. The leaves of the former are fleshier and glossier.

3. Smell: The leaves of the latter have a peculiar smell after being exposed to the sun, and are quite smelly.

4. Flowering: The flowers of the former are lateral, more numerous, and yellow in color. The latter has white flowers, only a few in number, with a flower arrow in the middle.
