Cultivation of Kalanchoe bonsai

Cultivation methods

When cultivating Kalanchoe, you should choose to plant it in spring or change the pot and soil. The potting soil should be fertile sandy loam. The mixing ratio of leaf mold, coarse sand and rice husk charcoal is 2:2:1.

When planting, tiles should be placed at the bottom of the pot, and decomposed organic fertilizer should be added to the culture soil as base fertilizer. Do not water immediately after planting. You need to wait for a few days before watering to prevent root rot.

Cultivation management

After potting, it grows more vigorously in a slightly moist environment. In midsummer, control watering and pay attention to ventilation.

Fertilize once every half month during the growing season. You can also use "Huizhi" 15-15-30 special fertilizer for potted flowers. Two weeks after planting the Kalanchoe, spray it once with 0.2% Bijiu, and spray it again when the plant reaches 12 cm in height.

Maintenance of Kalanchoe bonsai

Light and temperature requirements

Kalanchoe can grow well under full sun, half sun and diffuse light conditions. Provide 8-9 hours of sunlight a day and shade the plant for the rest of the time. Flower buds will form in 20-30 days.

The suitable growth temperature is 15-25℃. During the hot summer, pay attention to ventilation and shade to avoid direct sunlight. In winter, place it in a greenhouse or in a sunny place indoors and keep the temperature above 10℃.

Watering and fertilization requirements

When watering, follow the principle of "water when the soil is dry and water thoroughly when watering". Do not water too much during the growing season, water once every 2-3 days, and the soil in the pot should be slightly moist. Watering should be reduced in winter.

Apply a thin liquid fertilizer rich in phosphorus 1 or 2 times a month during the growing season. Fertilization should be carried out during the peak growing seasons in spring and autumn and after flowering.
