Repotting roses is a problem that many flower lovers have to face when growing roses. Repotting is very troublesome. I just grow roses for fun, and now I have hundreds of roses. If I have to repot all of them, it will take a lot of time, which is really a headache. Some flower lovers have sent me private messages asking if it is possible to keep roses in the same pot. I have given you some tips, but they only temporarily stop you from repotting roses. But after a long time, roses still need to be repotted. After repotting, roses grow well and have many advantages. So, today I will share my experience in repotting roses. When is the right time to repot roses?Roses can be repotted all year round. Some people say that the temperature is too hot in summer and the roses will die after repotting. In fact, as long as you master the skills of repotting roses, it is fine to repot them all year round. The trick is to bring the soil ball with you when you change pots , which means we change from a one-gallon pot to a two-gallon pot. We try our best to remove the entire soil ball, and the soil and old roots around it can be properly trimmed to meet the needs of the new pot. Then put the original soil ball together with the roots, fill the gaps with soil, and water it. This summer, I repotted quite a few roses, even the large rose seedlings in bloom, and now none of them are dead. If you repot with bare roots, the survival rate in summer will be very low. Although roses can be repotted all year round, the most suitable seasons are winter and early spring, because roses are dormant in winter and repotting will not have much impact. Everything comes back to life in spring, and even bare-root transplants can quickly bring back to life . Repotting in autumn is also a good idea, but the season that should be avoided the most is summer. In the summer, don't bother with roses. Not only do you not need to change the pots, but you should also avoid doing cuttings. If you are not in a hurry, it would be better to do it in the autumn and winter! How to determine whether it is time to repot your roseIt has always been said that roses need to be repotted, and you should repot them when it’s time. Then some flower lovers asked, how do we know when it’s time to repot roses? In fact, there is a way to identify it, which is to look at the bottom of the pot. Pick up the flower pot and look at the bottom of the pot. If a lot of roots grow out, it means that the flowerpot can no longer meet the growth needs of the rose, and you need to change to a larger flowerpot to give the roots enough space so that it can grow better . In addition, we can also look at the rose plants. If the plants are very large, it is not appropriate to plant them in a small pot. At least they should be of similar size . The stems of the roses our neighbor grows are so thick that they have broken the pots. Why don't you change the pots? In this case, you should have changed the pots long ago. |
