Why is the fortune tree shedding leaves? How to solve it

Why is the fortune tree shedding leaves? How to solve it

1. Improper lighting

Reason: The money tree grows best under soft diffuse light. When there is no light for a long time, the leaves will lack light and fall off. If the light is too strong, it will be detrimental to growth as it can easily burn the leaves, causing them to turn yellow and fall off.

Solution: Adjust the lighting according to the actual situation. When there is a lack of sunlight, you can move it to a place with good light to meet the sunlight needs. If the sunlight is too strong in the summer, you can take appropriate shade and light-blocking measures.

2. Improper watering

Reason: The money tree needs to be kept moist during its growth period, but if you water it too much, it will cause water accumulation, leading to root rot and leaf falling.

Solution: If it is due to over-watering, you need to stop watering first, then dig out the plant, cut off the rotten part, disinfect and sterilize it, and then replant it.

3. Improper fertilization

Reason: If no fertilizer is applied for a long time, the lack of nutrient supply will cause leaves to fall, and excessive fertilization will also cause leaves to fall.

Solution: Replace the soil with fertile and loose soil, apply fertilizer reasonably to ensure good nutrients. If too much fertilizer is applied, water should be added to dilute it.

4. Infection with pests and diseases

Reason: During the maintenance process, it may be infected with pests and diseases, which will absorb the juice and cause the leaves to fall.

Solution: Remove the diseased leaves promptly after the disease occurs, ensure good ventilation, and spray the medicine such as dimethoate emulsion in time.
