Why does Kalanchoe not bloom but only grow leaves?

Why does Kalanchoe not bloom but only grow leaves?

1. Insufficient light

Reason: If the Kalanchoe does not bloom but only grows leaves, it may be due to insufficient light. If the light exposure time is less than 4 hours, the plant will grow poorly and there will be no nutrient supply. Photosynthesis cannot be completed, so it is naturally difficult to bloom and the branches and leaves will only grow too long.

Solution: Ensure that the lighting time is about 4-8 hours, especially during the flowering period, you must maintain good lighting to promote photosynthesis and ensure the synthesis of nutrients.

2. Improper fertilization

Reason: It likes fertilizer, and both growth and flowering require the support of fertilizer. Its flowering period is relatively long, and it consumes more nutrients. If there is a lack of fertilizer, it may be difficult to bloom or the number of flower buds that grow may be small. Even if you apply fertilizer, if the proportion is unreasonable, this situation will occur. If the fertilizer is mainly nitrogen fertilizer, it will cause vigorous growth of branches and leaves, but it will be difficult to bloom.

Solution: Ensure good nutrients before flowering, and add some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers.

3. Too much watering

Reason: During the breeding process, you can give appropriate water to replenish moisture to maintain growth, but if you give too much water, it will cause the growth of branches and leaves and inhibit the growth of flowers.

Solution: You need to control watering, and don't water too much after the flower buds grow to prevent them from falling.
