Can the peace tree be saved if it is frozen?

Can the peace tree be saved if it is frozen?

1. Can it be saved?

The peace lily can be saved even if it is frozen. First put it in a warm place indoors to avoid further freezing. Afterwards, cut off the frozen leaves to prevent rot and bacterial growth. Keep it well ventilated and get plenty of light, and it will recover quickly. But if its trunk turns black and its roots rot, it will be difficult to save it.

2. Winter maintenance

1. Suitable temperature: The peace lily is a plant that is very afraid of cold and will be frostbitten if the temperature drops below 5℃ in winter. So be sure to ensure the temperature of the environment. In the north, you can put it in a heated room. In the south, the low temperature time is shorter and it can recover on its own. You can also put a plastic bag on it to keep it warm.

2. Adequate light: The peace lily grows well in places with sufficient light. Although it is shade-tolerant, it must be given long periods of sunlight in winter. This is not only beneficial to its growth, but also promotes photosynthesis. It can also raise the temperature to prevent it from frostbite.

3. Water less: The peace lily grows slowly in winter, so do not water it too much. The water temperature must also be strictly controlled. Do not use cold water to prevent frostbite on the roots. If the air is dry, you can spray water appropriately.

4. Stop fertilizing: It is not advisable to fertilize the peace lily in winter. But you can apply fertilizer twice before winter so that it can accumulate nutrients for the winter.
