1. Excessive watering

Cause: Excessive watering causes the roots of the plant to be flooded, causing them to rot and the leaves to turn black.

Solution: Take the coconut palm out of the pot and clean the roots with water to see if there is any rot. If there are rotten roots, cut them off with scissors and then soak them in carbendazim for disinfection. Then replant the plants into new soil, and disinfect the soil before use. Do not water immediately after planting, wait until it recovers before watering.

2. Air Drying

Reason: Dry air can easily accelerate the evaporation of water in the leaves, causing them to turn black after losing water.

Solution: In addition to watering, you should also spray water regularly. Fill a spray bottle with clean water and spray the leaves. Do not spray so much that water droplets form on the leaves. You can also sprinkle water on the ground, which can effectively increase the humidity of the environment.

3. Too much light

Reason: The Coconut Palm cannot be exposed to strong light, otherwise the leaves will be burned and turn black.

Solution: Move the palm tree to a cool place indoors and keep it for a while. After the leaves gradually recover, they can be placed in a place with diffuse light, which can meet the growth conditions without having any negative effects.

4. Lack of nutrients

Reason: If the palm tree lacks potassium fertilizer during its growth, it is easy to be affected by disease or grow poorly, causing the leaves to turn black.

Solution: Fertilize the coconut palm in time. Liquid fertilizer can be applied once a month during the growing season, and nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer should be used.
