What to do if the sprouts of the money tree don't grow

What to do if the sprouts of the money tree don't grow

1. Watering in time

Reason: If there is a lack of water during the growth period, the development of the money tree will be slow and the buds will not grow.

Solution: Daily water shortage is not just due to insufficient watering, it may also be caused by too dry air. In addition to increasing the amount of water appropriately, you can also use a spray bottle to spray water on the surface of the leaves to increase the air humidity, which can effectively inhibit the transpiration of the leaves.

2. Root pruning and soil replacement

Cause: Excessive watering or fertilizing can easily lead to root rot, affecting the absorption of water and nutrients, thus preventing the growth of young shoots.

Solution: Carefully remove it from the pot and inspect the roots for damage. Cut off rotten roots and apply carbendazim for disinfection. After cutting the roots, replant them. Do not use the original pot and soil as bacteria may grow in them. Use sterilized dry soil. Do not water immediately after planting, wait until it recovers.

3. Enhance lighting

Reason: The money tree itself is relatively shade-tolerant, but long-term lack of light will lead to poor growth, and the young shoots will not grow.

Solution: Move the money tree to a place indoors with diffuse light. It should be noted that it cannot be exposed to direct sunlight in the summer, especially strong sunlight in the afternoon. But in winter, you can put it in the sun, where the light is soft and can also raise the temperature.

4. Appropriate fertilization

Reason: If there are not enough nutrients in the potting soil, the sprouts will stop growing.

Solution: Appropriate fertilization is needed during the growing period. Generally, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer is used and applied once a week. You can also apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers once a month, but do not apply too much nitrogen fertilizer.
