Reasons for the withering of bougainvillea bud tips

Reasons for the withering of bougainvillea bud tips

1. Too much light

If bougainvillea is exposed to strong sunlight during the planting process, the bud tips will not be able to bear it and will begin to wither, especially in the summer when the temperature is high and the sun is scorching, it is difficult for the bud tips not to wither. If this is the reason, it is relatively easy to solve. Just cut off the withered parts, change the maintenance position, place it in a place where the light is not strong, and pay attention to shade in summer.

2. Lack of water

Growth requires water supply. If there is no watering for a long time, the roots of the plant will not be able to absorb water from the potting soil, and it will be difficult to supply water to the plant, and the plant itself will lack water and dry up. Give a small amount of water first, and then water the plant gradually. The plant will slowly replenish water and will naturally improve after a period of time.

3. Too much watering

Not only will lack of water cause withering, but if too much water is given, the roots will be unable to bear it and will rot. Then the transport function will be lost and the plant will not have water and nutrients to grow and develop. You can cut off the rotten parts and replant them in the pots. Pay attention to watering and drain them in time if they rain.

4. Suffering from frost damage

If the growing temperature in winter is lower than 5 degrees Celsius, or if the plant is suddenly hit by a cold wind, it will be difficult for the plant to adapt to the cold and the bud tips will wither. Keep warm in winter, and the temperature should be maintained above 15 degrees Celsius.
