How to deal with dead seedlings of Clivia

How to deal with dead seedlings of Clivia

1. Reasons

When this happens, it is mostly because the soil has become hardened. Because of this phenomenon, the air permeability of the soil is affected, and water infiltration becomes difficult, so the potting soil will either be in a dry state or in a wet state. If we don't fertilize it regularly, or use the wrong fertilization method, it will be more likely to cause its roots to rot. Even if it doesn't rot, it will easily cause it to not absorb nutrients, which will lead to plant stunting.

2. Measures

Once this kind of situation occurs in the plant, we must solve the problem from the root system.

First of all, you need to repot it to promote root growth. The specific method is: take it out of the original pot, then cut off some rotten and dead roots, then put it in a solution of naphthylacetic acid and sterilizer, soak it for about five hours, and then dry it in the sun. Then choose a clay pot that fits the size of the plant and put a quarter of coarse slag in the bottom to make it easier to drain. Then use sterilized river sand as the substrate, place the seedlings in it, and then place it in a relatively moist and cool place. Apply a solution containing urea to it once every ten days or so, and you can also add plant hormones to it.

The second thing is to put it in a pot to rejuvenate it. The specific steps are: when new leaves begin to grow or new roots grow, you can put it in a pot. At this time, a drainage layer should be added, and the soil needs to be loose and fertile. After potting, give it a few days to acclimate, and then you can manage it normally.

3. Small methods

There are some ways to prevent this from happening. You can pour some white wine on it after Qingming Festival and before late autumn, but be careful not to splash the wine onto the plant when pouring. The effect will be seen after one or two weeks. It is best to use it less in the early stage and wait for a longer time for it to take effect. You can stop using it after it takes effect.
