How to graft money tree

How to graft money tree

The grafting of the money tree is only for its own reproduction. Usually, the two-year-old seedlings of the money tree are used as the rootstock for grafting. The genes and components between them are relatively similar, so the survival rate of grafting is relatively high. To graft the money tree, you need to first cut the rootstock into a T shape and then graft it.

Time for grafting fortune tree

The grafting of the money tree is generally chosen to begin in February in spring, because the temperature, light and water conditions at this time are more suitable, and the survival rate of grafting is also relatively high, which can make the grafted money tree resume normal growth faster.

Grafting technology of fortune tree

1. First, carefully cut off the leaves at the top of the money tree scion, leaving only one or two small buds, and cut the lower end of the branch at an angle on both sides into a wedge shape.

2. The rootstock of the money tree should be cut from 40 cm above the ground, and a longitudinal cut should be made on the cross section. The length of the cut should be consistent with the cut surface of the scion.

3. Insert the processed money tree scion into the prepared rootstock, align it with the cambium, tie it tightly with a piece of film, and wait for about a month. The wound will heal on its own and new shoots will grow.
