What to do if the flowers of Kalanchoe droop

What to do if the flowers of Kalanchoe droop

1. Normal phenomenon

Reason: The flowers of Kalanchoe will droop when they wither. If the flowering period is normal, the flowers will droop around April.

Solution: If it has already sagged, there is basically no solution. However, applying potassium dihydrogen phosphate or superphosphate during the bud stage can extend the flowering period.

2. Avoid exposure to the sun

Cause: Excessive exposure to strong sunlight can cause flowers to droop. On the one hand, the scorching sun burns the flowers, and on the other hand, the high temperature causes water to be lost quickly, and lack of water causes the flowers to droop.

Solution: The solution to excessive exposure to the sun is to move the plant to a cool and ventilated place. Although Kalanchoe requires 8 hours of light, it is recommended to be exposed to sunlight in the early morning and evening most of the time. Soft sunlight is more conducive to its growth.

3. Prune the roots

Cause: Root rot may also cause flowers to droop, and of course it will be accompanied by yellowing leaves, falling leaves and dead branches.

Solution: Take the plant out of the pot and check whether the roots are rotten. If so, clean them up immediately. If the root rot is severe, the plant needs to be pruned and all the flowers removed to help grow new roots.

4. Lack of water

Cause: Lack of water causes the flowers to droop, and the leaves to become soft and curl.

Solution: Check whether the soil in the pot is compacted. If so, you need to loosen the soil appropriately, otherwise water will not be able to penetrate. After loosening the soil, you can water it. Water it thoroughly at one time and avoid water accumulation.
