Soil requirements

Moisture

Thousand Buddha's Hand is relatively drought-resistant. It is not advisable to water the newly planted small pots, and it is better to keep the soil in the pots dry. Keep the soil in the pot moist during the growing period and water it 1 to 2 times a month. Do not water it frequently, otherwise the roots will easily rot. In winter, water once a month.

Light and temperature

Thousand Buddha's Hands likes light, so it should be placed on a sunny windowsill or balcony for maintenance. It should not be placed in a place with strong light or excessive shade. Except in summer, it can be maintained in full sun at other times.

The suitable growth temperature for Thousand Buddha's Hand is 18~25℃, and it can safely overwinter if the winter temperature is not lower than 5℃.

Fertilizing and pruning

Fertilize 2 to 3 times a year, or once every three months. No fertilizer is applied in winter. Avoid applying too much fertilizer, otherwise the leaves will become loose, soft, and have poor posture.

Thousand Buddha's Hand basically does not need to be pruned, but after growing for 3 to 4 years, the branches will be denser and the leaves can be broken off for cuttings.

In spring and autumn, the plants should be sprayed with water frequently to increase the air humidity and ensure the leaves are lush. When the temperature is high in summer, pay attention to shading and ensure ventilation.

Pests and diseases

Thousand Buddha's Hands does not seem to be very popular with insects, and insects rarely appear on the leaves, but if it is not properly maintained, it can easily become waterlogged, and once this happens, it can be fatal. Therefore, during the planting process, we must do a good job of sterilization, water appropriately, and avoid waterlogging. Once you find waterlogged leaves, remove them immediately.
