What to do if the leaves of Phoenix bamboo turn black

What to do if the leaves of Phoenix bamboo turn black

1. Unsuitable lighting

(1) Specific reasons

Neither too strong nor too weak is good. If it is too strong, the water in the leaves will evaporate very quickly and the leaves may turn black. On the contrary, if the plant is kept in a shaded environment for a long time and the light is too weak, chlorophyll cannot be formed and the leaves may turn black.

(2) Solutions

Generally speaking, in spring, summer and autumn, it is best to place it in a semi-shaded place with a little scattered light. However, in winter, the light can be appropriately increased.

2. Fertilizer is not suitable

(1) Specific reasons

There are two situations. The first is too much fertilizer, which may cause leaf burn. The second is the lack of phosphorus fertilizer. Both of these situations can cause the leaves to turn black.

(2) Solutions

If it is the first type, then the fertilizer needs to be diluted when applying it. If it is the second case, then some phosphorus fertilizer can be used appropriately.

3. Too little water

(1) Specific reasons

If there is a lack of water for a long time, the edges of the leaves will first become dry, then they may turn black, and then if the situation is serious, they may fall off.

(2) Solutions

If this happens, water the plant immediately. However, you don't need too much. Water it thoroughly at one time and don't let water accumulate. Next, just keep it moist.

4. The temperature is too low

(1) Specific reasons

This happens mainly in winter. If it is damaged by frost, the leaves will turn black.

(2) Solutions

In this case, the room temperature needs to be adjusted in time, or other insulation measures need to be taken.
