Kalanchoe

There must be a lot of people growing Kalanchoe because it looks so beautiful when it blooms! However, the older the Kalanchoe gets, the less it blooms. Since many flower lovers buy a new pot every year, it’s actually not that troublesome. Kalanchoe branches take root quickly and are easy to grow, ensuring that you will never lack Kalanchoe every year!

Steps for cutting branches:

1. Cut the selected branches. Note that you should cut them about 1 cm above the axillary buds. While obtaining the cuttings, you can also divide the mother plant.

2. Divide the cut branches into sections, retaining two nodes with leaves on each section, and then remove the leaves at the bottom.

3. Prepare suitable soil for cuttings. Peat soil, nutrient soil, river sand, vermiculite, perlite, etc. can be used. Place in the prepared pot and water until slightly moist.

4. Disinfect the prepared cuttings with carbendazim and place them in a cool place for 1 day.

Aloe Vera

There are many benefits to growing aloe vera at home. Not only does it look beautiful, but it can also purify the air. If you have good skills, it can even beautify your home.

Key points for division:

1 Generally, when the aloe vera grows to about 10 cm, many small buds will appear around it. These small buds are what we want to divide.

2. Take all the aloe vera and small buds out of the flowerpot, clean the soil attached to the roots, and be gentle so as not to damage the roots.

3. Observe whether the small sprouts have grown complete root systems. Only by choosing larger small sprouts that have grown a lot of roots can the survival rate be higher. Don't choose small sprouts that don't have roots yet.

4. After selecting the small bud, pinch the growth point between the small bud and the mother plant with your fingers, then gently break it off, and the small bud will fall off. Place the small bud in a cool place for about 1 day and wait for the wound to dry.

5. Fill some of the soil in the selected flowerpot, not all of it, and then put the small bud into the flowerpot, hold it with your hands, and then slowly fill it with soil. When filling the soil, pay attention to the root system and let the roots expand naturally. You don't need too much soil, just bury all the roots of the aloe vera.

6. After filling the soil, gently press the periphery of the flower pot with your fingers, water it thoroughly, and then place it in a cool and ventilated place to allow the seedlings to grow slowly. After about a week, new roots will grow and continue to grow!

ivy

Ivy is also one of the common plants in the home. Its leaves are special and evergreen all the year round. It is an indispensable decoration in the home.

Tips for cutting branches:

1 Select a strong branch about 10 cm long from the top of the ivy and cut it off.

2. Remove all the leaves at the bottom of the branches, leaving only the top 2 to 4 leaves.

3. Poke a few holes on the bottom of a disposable cup and put in soil with good air permeability. Alternatively, you can directly use pure perlite or vermiculite for cuttings, which has a higher success rate.

4. Use your fingers or chopsticks to poke a hole in the middle of the cup, put the branches in and fill the hole with soil, compacting it slightly to prevent the branches from falling over.

5. After watering thoroughly, place it in a bright place indoors. Keep the soil moist in the first few days. After a week, water it when the soil is dry. If the temperature is right, it will take about 15 to 20 days for the seeds to take root.

6. Don’t rush to transplant it after it takes root. Let it grow in the cup for about one and a half months before transplanting. At this time, its root system has grown well and the possibility of survival after transplantation increases!

Tiger Piranha

Sansevieria is named because the patterns on its leaves resemble tiger's tails. It is very easy to maintain and has become a frequent visitor in many flower lovers' homes.

Leaf cuttings tips:

1. Take a healthy leaf of Sansevieria.

2. If the leaves of the snake plant are very long, you can use a sharp knife to cut them into small sections of about 5 to 10 cm. If the leaves are short, you can directly use cuttings to propagate them.
