What to do if the firecracker plant loses its leaves

What to do if the firecracker plant loses its leaves

1. Overwatering

In fact, most plants’ leaf loss is related to watering, but this plant grows faster, blooms more flowers, and has a longer flowering period, so it needs a lot of water to maintain. And during daily cultivation, we must also keep the potting soil slightly moist. However, some friends mistakenly believe that it needs a lot of watering, which causes water accumulation in the soil, or leaves it in a too wet environment for too long. At this time, the plant is very easy to lose leaves.

Solution: If the drainage of the potting soil is not good, it is recommended to take out the plant with the soil and dry it in the sun; if the pot has good air permeability, you can place it in a well-ventilated place for a while. When watering daily, don't do it blindly. Observe the condition of the soil more often. If the soil surface is dry, water it. When flower buds grow in autumn, be sure to reduce watering. It is best to keep the soil slightly dry at this time.

2. Soil caking

The soil is clumping mostly because the plant has not been watered thoroughly for a long time. When the soil is clumping, the roots cannot absorb water and nutrients normally. If this continues for too long, the leaves will fall off.

Solution: If the clumping is severe, first water the soil thoroughly, and continue watering until water flows out from the bottom of the pot. Water should be poured in slowly, not all at once. At the same time, drainage must be done well, and water must not be allowed to remain in the pot for a long time. After processing it and leaving it for a while, it will slowly recover.
